A family-run road haulage company based in Nottinghamshire which started with one man in a van is celebrating its 40th anniversary - after moving to a new HQ in Huthwaite and upgrading its fleet of 200 lorries.
B Taylor & Sons Transport originally started in 1974
when founder Barry Taylor began by delivering bundles of the Nottingham Post to
local newsagents in Nottinghamshire.
The haulage firm has since grown into a thriving
international business that employs 300 people and transports a huge variety of
goods and materials to destinations all over the UK and worldwide.
B Taylor & Sons Transport recently opened its new HQ in
Huthwaite, and the company now transports everything from building products and
hazardous materials to hosiery and foodstuffs.
The company celebrated its anniversary by ordering a jet
black Volvo FH4 6x2 PA super truck painted in customised livery, which was
supplied by the Hartshorne Motor Group in Birstall.
The black truck took pride of place at a garden party that
Alan hosted over the August Bank Holiday for customers, suppliers and staff.
Alan and Kay Taylor hosted a family garden party for
colleagues, suppliers and customers on Sunday 24th August.
Guests enjoyed a funfair, hog roast, steam engines,
children entertainers and bands played throughout the day and evening with
Canon and Ball topping the bill.
The money raised will go to Alan’s chosen charity - Sherwood
Forest Hospitals Charitable Funds.
Taylors target is to provide patient mobility buggies which
will operate from the main entrance helping patients travel around the hospital
– a perfect cause for Taylors with it being Transport related.
