A newly-launched haulage company with sister bases in West
Yorkshire and Cumbria is creating up to 20 new jobs after appointing an
experienced management team to drive the business forward and secure its
future.
The Haulage (Holdings) Organisation Ltd is being spearheaded
by managing director Peter Kelly, who brings with him a wealth of logistics
experience, including eight years as operations director at Eddie Stobart.
The company, which began operating just two months ago from
Halifax and Penrith, has been granted Operator’s Licences for a “green” fleet
of 74 vehicles and 71 trailers having taken over operations from various other
subsidiaries within Leo Group.
The brand new Mercedes-Benz Euro-6s - sourced from Northside
Truck and Van Ltd in Bradford - offers the most advanced safety features.
The Haulage (Holdings) Organisation Ltd also has signed a
new contract with ATS Euromaster Ltd to maintain the tyres on its entire fleet
- just one of a number of measures to continuously monitor and improve driver
performance.
On the back of rapid initial growth, the company is now
creating between 15 and 20 new jobs for experienced drivers across its two
sites.
Operations director Tim Cooper said: “Our fleet telematics
system allows us to accurately track vehicle movement and monitor performance.
“In accordance with our fleet policy, we monitor driver
performance to maximise efficiency, continuously improve customer service, and
ensure our driver’s safety.
“The new fleet of cabs and trailers means we are well
equipped to maximise our performance through monitoring route planning and
delivery times.“
